Detail Itinerary
- Day 1 : We will collect you from the Tshachu (Gasa Hot Spring Guesthouse) at 08:00 am. During the morning you will visit 2 places of historic interest: Site of Zhabdrung’s Zhablham (footwear), Damji Khamoe & Cholii Khatoe You will learn of the little-known story of Zhabdrung’s journey from Tibet to Bhutan through Gasa Dzongkhag, you will discover the history behind the gifts he left with his hosts. You will then be driven to Gasa Dzong and experience the recently renovated structure. The Dzong was built in the 17th century by Tenzin Drukdra the second Druk Desi over the site of a editation place established by Drubthob Terkungpa in the 13th century. One of main relics of Gasa Dzong today is the six numbers of sacred saddles from Zhabdrung Rinpoche’s time in the 16th century. These sacred saddles are associated to Pe-Yeshey Gonpo (Mahakala), Pe-Legi Gonpo, Pe -Yeshey Lhamo (Mahakali), Pe -Tsheringmo, Ge- Nyen and Gomo Damchen, who were part of the entourage in Zhabdrung Rinpoche’s s maiden journey to Bhutan. You will have time to take lunch in Gasa town at your own discretion. At the heart of the town, you will find a dozen small shops, Restaurants, a school, small police station, a post Office, a clinic, a forest office and financial agents (BOB, BNB &BDFC station.) After lunch you will visit the medicinal springs of Tokey Menchu & Menchu Karpo Tokey Menchu is located just below the main road to the hot spring and to the right is a medicinal spring called Menchu Karpo, which is also located 2-3 kilo meter above its hot spring. This medicinal spring is good to cure the joint pain and ankle fracture.
