Zhiwa Ling

Bhutan’s first locally owned, faithfully traditional top tier hotel. Five years in the making, Zhiwa Ling is a tribute to the ornate Bhutanese architecture combined with modern facilities such as WI FI Internet and Swedish under floor heating systems. Many parts of the hotel are hand carved with colorful designs and traditional arts hand painted on the walls.

The 45 suites Zhiwa Ling combines the sensibilities of the fine Bhutanese hospitality and the best of 21st century technology. Envisioned and created by a local Bhutanese company. The hotel’s elaborate hand-carved wooden cornices and masterful stonework co-exist beautifully with the cutting edge telecommunication system and Swedish under-floor heating system.
Honoring the spiritual heritage of this ancient Buddhist Kingdom, a temple has been built into the second floor of the hotel, made with 450 –year old timber from the famous  Gangtey Monastery , the crowning glory of this new ten-acre cultural landmark.
