Clean up campaign

June 20, 2008 | A clean up campaign was organized by the Tourism Council for the Jumolhari and Druk Path trail from the 8th – 17th June 2008. 30 representatives from various tour companies and volunteers participated in the campaign. The participants were divided into two teams. The first group covered the places from Drugyel Dzong, Shana Zam, Soi Thangthanka, Jangothang, Lingshi, Shodu, Barshong, Dolom Kencho and Dodena and the second team covered the Druk path trail. The team brought back 24 gunny bags of trash from the trail. Participants commented that most of the trash was found around the campsites and settlements. An expenditure of .28 million was incurred during the campaign.
