Bhutan Excursion ‘journeys into the wilderness’ is an inbound tour operator based in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. It is registered with the Tourism Council of Bhutan, licensed by Royal Government of Bhutan, and a member of Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators.
Sonam Wangchen, the founder of Bhutan Excursion has been in the tourism industry for last 12 years, working as a guide at various capacities and has vast experience in this field. Sonam has extensively travelled all over Bhutan, exploring new trekking routes and cultural sites.
Royal Trek and the Juniper Trail are few of the trekking routes Sonam explored and created. Bhutan Excursion has exclusive access to these trekking routes. “We need to show what our guests want to see, not what we want them to see,” Sonam says referring guests to the tourists. These inspired him to create adventurous trekking trails of his own.
