Annual Renewal Of Tour Guide And Trekking Staff License

The Tourism Council of Bhutan will be carrying out the annual renewal of tour guide and trekking staff license beginning January till end of March 2014. In this regard all tour guides and trekking staff are requested to renew their license during the renewal period.

Failing to renew the license during the renewal period is subject to following late fees/penalty and cancellation as decided during the meeting held between Tourism Council of Bhutan and Guide Association of Bhutan on 10th October 2013. 

If the license is not renewed during the renewal period of three months, a late fee of Nu. 50 (Fifty) per day shall apply including weekends and government holidays starting from 1st of April. 

If the license is not renewed for more than two years but less than three years, a late fee of Nu. 50 (Fifty) per day shall apply including weekends and government holidays starting from 1st of April till the date of renewal. However, in addition he/she has to pass the test conducted by TCB.

If the license is not renewed for three years or more, the license shall be cancelled and he/she will be required to undergo the whole course for a new license fulfilling all licensing formalities
