The World Tourism Day is celebrated annually on 27th of September to raise awareness among the international community on the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.  The day is observed with different themes every year and the theme for 2020 is “Tourism and Rural Development”.

The following quote from the Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) summarizes the importance of rural development and how tourism can be crucial for rural development.

“Placing rural development at the heart of tourism policies through education, investment, innovation and technology can transform the livelihoods of millions, preserve our environment and our culture”.

As part of the celebration, TCB will be organizing quiz competition for the industry partners of Bhutan to engage and enhance knowledge on tourism and Bhutan. The competition will be conducted online for registered participants on 21st September 2020. The top 10 participants who complete the quiz with maximum correct answers in the shortest time will be selected for final round to be held at BBS. 

Prizes: 

  • First prize: Nu 25,000/-
  • Second prize: Nu. 22,500/-
  • Third prize: Nu. 20,000/-
  • Other top 7 participants will receive Nu. 2,500/- each 


In this regard, TCB would like to request interested participants to register. The registration will open from today till 19th September (5PM).

TCB is also conducting daily online quiz on TCB Facebook and Instagram page to engage both international and national audiences. We encourage you to participate actively in both the quiz competitions.
