URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TOUR OPERATORS: Regarding Trekking Groups
It has been repeatedly brought to the notice of the Tourism Council of Bhutan Secretariat that some trekking groups are found to be camping in undesignated campsites in spite of proper campsites having been developed for such purposes. Such practices have led to garbage being disposed off indiscriminately.
Therefore, all tour operators are requested to kindly note that trekking groups must camp in proper designated campsites developed and identified by TCBS. Tour guides and trekking cooks must ensure that they register with the caretaker of the campsites and pay campsite fees. And the trekking crew must also ensure that they bring back all trash.
Failure to comply the above will be dealt with “Rules and Regulations for Tour Operators 1999”, “Bhutan Trekking Rules and Regulations 1996” and “Forest & Nature Conservation Rules of Bhutan 2006”.
